If one were to look up the word innovative in the dictionary, they would, without a doubt, find the picture of Chrys Yvette. Considered to be one of Hollywood’s up and coming producers, directors and writers, this young ingénue is blazing a trail that few have dared to set foot on. For almost 15 years, she has been producing and directing films, TV pilots, and stageplays.

The St. Louis native has been making a mark for herself in the movie industry since she launched her Los Angeles based company, Serenity Filmworks. A Film Production and Business Marketing major at Clark Atlanta University, Yvette was able to get an early start in the business by initially producing several touring stage plays and independent films during her college days.

Although having etched a permanent place in the entertainment scenes of Atlanta, Yvette would eventually migrate west to take her company and connections to the next level. After relocating to Los Angeles, Yvette would immediately become a mover and shaker among the independent stage circuit and the film industry.

In an effort to enhance the knowledge she gained in Atlanta, Yvette would eventually work in the Executive Offices of DGA and Fox Studios under Rupert Murdoch, founder of 20th Century Fox, and serve as Assistant to Chase Carey, Program Executive. However, Yvette’s fervor to reignite the fires of the industry would not stop at those open door opportunities, they would also lead her to coordinate several film festivals, such as the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival (LAIFF) and the Directors Guild of America Awards 2000, in which Steven Spielberg was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. Most recently, Yvette has been receiving rave reviews for her first feature film, entitled "Before Now," which she wrote, produced and directed. She also based, "A Woman’s Worth," the stageplay on the film.

The film, "A Woman’s Worth," will be shot in the summer of 2005, while the play will hit theaters across the country this Fall. Yvette has been getting the attention of a lot of major players within Hollywood and the entertainment industry as a result of her bold, no holds barred style of writing, directing and producing. It is that component that is making her one of Hollywood’s most sought after individuals.
